an afternoon in the Bilderdijkpark

close to where I lived for 2 years in Amsterdam is the tiny Bilderdijkpark, there's a trendy restaurant, people walking their dogs, children's parties are hosted there, youngsters (and oldsters) hang around and smoke there.
but it wasn't always so.
the trendy restaurant is built from what used to be morgue, the visitors sit and walk where graves used to be.

I wanted to make a comic, with melancholic tones, dealing with change, be it death, the growth of a city, the end of a relationship, acceptance.

this package has the comic both in Dutch (original) and English, and sketches and notes that someone who knows Dutch  m i g h t  be able to decipher.
